An app to save lives
The 2015 Innovation Award, presented by the HUG Private Foundation, was awarded to PedAMINES©, a touchscreen app dedicated to paediatric emergencies. This very innovative tool facilitates and accelerates drug preparation during cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
It automatically calculates the dose required based on the child's weight, and shows the preparation stages one after the other. PedAMINES© gives caregivers a clear and concise overview of the administered drugs. It assists in complex dose calculations and provides a summary of the treatment dispensed. A review carried out in paediatric A&E showed a sharp reduction in preparation time and medication errors.
