Prof Tim Frayling is a researcher with expertise in the human genetics of rare and common disease. His work focuses on metabolic conditions such as type 2 diabetes and obesity but his methods , using billions of genetic variants in millions of people, can be applied to many disease areas. After beginning his career in Oxford he spent 27 years at the University of Exeter , UK, before moving to Geneva’s department of Genetics and development in 2023.
