Shining a light on clustering in randomized trials in public health and clinical medicine

Liz Turner, PhD, is an associate professor of biostatistics and global health at Duke University, USA, who is currently visiting l’Institut de Santé Globale at UniGe. Her expertise lies in the design and analysis of cluster randomized, stepped wedge and other complex trial designs that involve outcome clustering such as individually randomized group treatment trials. The majority of the trials she works on are hybrid designs that focus on the evaluation of the effectiveness and implementation of programs, policies and interventions. Her primary areas of focus are in cardiovascular disease, malaria and mental health.
