Care in the community

In January 2017, the addictology service formed a specialist team offering intensive care to people finding it extremely difficult to comply with traditional treatments. It takes into account their needs, resources and the obstacles preventing them from accessing medical and social services.

This customised, flexible and intensive care in the community helps the patient to comply with the treatment; it prevents repeated relapses and hospitalisations.

Some fifty patients with different addictions (50% of them are addicted to alcohol) have been supported by this team. Despite the high risk of interrupted care that characterises this group, the drop-out rate is extremely low.
