Launch of a programme

In 2017, with the support of the Private Foundation, HUG launched a vast clinical hypnosis training programme (FR), designed for doctors and healthcare practitioners.

Practised at HUG since the eighties, hypnosis may be used in some thirty healthcare situations, ranging from supporting someone when announcing bad news to hypnosedation during surgery. This therapeutic tool is of interest in reducing anxiety and pain, as well as nausea, vomiting and phobias.

The first step before clinical hypnosis: being trained in therapeutic communication, i.e. learning how to use reassuring words with a patient weakened by disease
