The recruitment policy aims to position the HUG as a leading employer by offering very interesting career opportunities in more than 160 different professions.
The HUG collaborates with the cantonal employment office to promote the recruitment of job seekers, particularly in the context of the cantonal directive introduced at the end of 2014. Thanks to this commitment to the unemployed, the HUG has been awarded the cantonal label 1+ pour tous.
The different stages of the application process
- Application: A profile must be created on our website in order to apply for a job. This profile must include a CV, a cover letter, the last two work certificates and copies of the diplomas obtained. Diplomas must be recognized if they were obtained abroad.
CV – What should it contain? - All applications must be submitted online. No paper applications will be accepted. Due to the large number of applications received, unsolicited applications cannot be considered as they cannot be given the attention they deserve.
- Application process: Generally, positions are open and advertised externally for 15 days. At the end of this period, all applications are reviewed by the Human Resources Department and the head of the relevant department. Candidates receive initial feedback within a few weeks.
- First interview: A first interview is offered to candidates whose application has been selected. In some cases, they may be conducted via video conference.
How to prepare? - Second interview: If the first interview is successful, a second interview is proposed in the presence of the service head and the HR head. This second meeting will allow a better understanding of the candidates’ knowledge, personal skills and motivations.
- Additional interviews: Some positions require a third interview, additional tests, or case studies.
- Final answer: At the end of this process, the successful candidate will receive a job offer and an integration plan.
