The Teaching and research directorate is a skills organizational structure that embodies academic authority as defined in the regulations regarding Hospital-University collaborations between the University of Geneva Faculty of Medicine and HUG.
Hospital-University Institutions have a joint role to provide a high level of teaching, to pursueresearch at the cutting edge of biomedical science and to provide very high quality community and referral care on a regional and international level.
At HUG, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine acts as the Director of Teaching and Research.
He chairs the Executive Committee and overseas in particular the implementation of undergraduate training and also the development of translational clinical research.
He is a stakeholder in postgraduate training and continuing education.
