Mission
University hospital institutions have a joint role to :
- provide a high level of teaching
- pursue research at the cutting edge of biomedical science
- provide high quality community and referral care at a regional and international level.
The Teaching and research directorate is a skills organizational structure that embodies academic authority as defined in the regulations regarding Hospital-University collaborations between the University of Geneva Faculty of Medicine and HUG.
Structure
At HUG, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine acts as the Director of teaching and research.
He sits on the Executive committee and overseas in particular the implementation of undergraduate training and also the development of translational clinical research.
He is a stakeholder in postgraduate training and continuing education.
