Research and innovation are a strategic axis for the HUG and it is the hospital’s engagement in clinical research that ensures the development of next-generation treatments.
Every patient can potentially benefit from the latest therapeutic and technological breakthroughs. By consenting to take part, for example, in clinical trials for a new medicine, patients themselves play an important role in driving medical innovation.
Clinicians and researchers of the HUG have access to support regarding logistics, methodology and funding from experts of the HUG and Faculty of medicine Clinical research centre, the HUG Innovation Centre and the HUG Foundation. They are also integrated into national and international networks.
