I put my worries in a box

Sometimes, thinking about your worries or concerns doesn’t necessarily bring solutions and it is beneficial to leave your mind more at peace. For example, when you want to sleep or you need to focus on something you need to do.

In these cases, visualizing a place where one “stores” worries, allows the mind to be freed and to move on.

Make a list of your current worries (this list can include everyday worries or major concerns).

Distinguish between what can be easily and/or quickly resolved and what cannot be resolved now.
For the concerns that you cannot do anything about right now, imagine a box in which you can put them and lock the box.
You can also imagine leaving them on a chair or another place that you can easily visualize.

When worries come back, think about the closed box (or the other visualized place). Tell yourself that you will open it when the time is right.
