Your stay in neurorehabilitation

Colonne 1

Damage to the nervous system can affect your ability to move, communicate or perform daily tasks. The Division of Neurorehabilitation specializes in supporting people who face these challenges, whether they are related to a stroke, a head injury, a spinal cord injury or other conditions affecting the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) or the peripheral nervous system (nerves and ganglia).

Your stay: a path to autonomy

The main objective of your stay is to provide you with the necessary conditions and support to:

  • promote recovery of functions impaired by the neurological injury
  • increase your independence in daily activities
  • prepare your return home or to a facility that meets your needs.

A multidisciplinary team is at your side to support your rehabilitation journey.

The care approach

Rehabilitation is a team effort. You, your loved ones and the team at the service work together towards the same goal: your recovery and independence. This approach combines three complementary elements:

  • appropriate medical care
  • targeted therapies to recover your functions and relearn everyday gestures
  • social support to prepare your return home.

The service offers specialized consultations in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and neuropsychology. Personalized programs are developed according to your needs and
rehabilitation goals.

Quality of care, collaboration, respect and mutual trust: these principles guide the support and ensure a caring approach from the beginning to the end of the journey.

Your involvement and that of your loved ones

The medical and nursing teams encourage your active participation by offering you the opportunity to perform daily activities independently, according to your abilities and in complete safety. This gradual autonomy is at the heart of the rehabilitation project. Every gesture you perform yourself, every effort you make contributes to your progress and strengthens your confidence.

Your loved ones play an important role: they support you on a daily basis and help you consolidate your learning.

The family conference: a key moment

If necessary, a family conference can be organized with you and your loved ones. This privileged moment of exchange allows you to:

  • discuss your progress and difficulties encountered
  • adjusting rehabilitation goals according to your progress
  • together consider solutions for the continuation of treatment or your return home.

It is a space for dialogue where your questions find answers and where solutions are built collectively.

Your personalized follow-up

Upon arrival, a comprehensive assessment is carried out to identify your needs and understand your situation. Based on this, personalized rehabilitation goals are set with you and your loved ones, so that everyone understands the project that lies ahead.

The length of your stay depends on several factors: the nature of the neurological impairment, your progress and the progress made throughout the program. It can last several weeks.

Care and therapies are planned according to your pace and abilities, in a climate of respect, kindness and collaboration.

The goal of the stay is to build a personalized rehabilitation project together in order to:

  • regain as much autonomy as possible
  • return to an active life that is in line with your values
  • envision your future with confidence.

We recommend bringing comfortable and therapy-friendly clothing, as well as stable and closed shoes for walking and rehabilitation exercises.

Therapeutic Permission

During your stay, you may be offered the option of returning home for one or two days (two nights maximum). This therapeutic leave is proposed by the medical and nursing team, depending on your health status and in agreement with your loved ones. This temporary return home is intended to identify the difficulties you may encounter in your daily life and to best adapt the support needed to prepare for your final discharge.

After your stay

Upon discharge, neurorehabilitation can continue on an outpatient basis as needed. The Division of Neurorehabilitation offers specialized consultations covering the various areas of neurorehabilitation, including a Day Hospital, paraplegia and neurological bladder disorders.

Visiting hours

You can receive visits every day from 8am to 8pm. However, to ensure the tranquility of care and the smooth running of therapies, we recommend that you schedule your visits:

  • from 10am in the morning
  • outside of the rehabilitation sessions scheduled in your loved one’s weekly schedule.

The personal care schedule is displayed in each room and updated every week, please consult it to best organize your visits.
