Patient Partners

Patient Partners + 3P Program presentation

The Patient Partners + 3P (in French : Proches, Professionnels et Public, meaningRelatives, Professional and Public) program of the Geneva University Hospital (HUG), under the Nursing directorate (in French : Direction des soins), aims to foster a culture of partnership among these equal stakeholders, at every stage of the patient's care journey. Patient partners and their relatives provide staff with the benefit of their experiential wisdom in the areas of care, teaching, research and organization.

The Patient Partners + 3P program guides and supports you in your partnership activities, giving visibility to your actions and constantly recruiting new partners eager to invest in improving the quality of care and services. This program is based on :

HUG partnership model

Partnership is the expression of an interdependant relationship based on : trust, listening, dialogue, mutual respect, collaborative decision-making and action. Patients are experts in their own conditions, living with them day in, day out. For their part, healthcare professionals increasingly seek to collaborate, to co-decide and co-construct with the patient, and to establish a relationship grounded in trust and transparency. Partnership is therefore based on resèect for one another, mutual recognition of each partner's skills, scientific knowledge and experiential wisdom. The only way we can care for them and improve healthcare and hospital stays is with their involvement.

Patient Partner Platform + 3P

An essential tool for implementing collaborations, its aim is to facilitate partnership implementation by linking patients and carers with healthcare staff who wish to collaborate.
