The Patients Partners +3P team coordinates, supports and develops partnership initiatives between patients, relatives, citizens and healthcare professionals. It accompanies patient partners in their commitment, facilitates collaborations, structures practices and works actively to develop the patient partnership within the institution.
The PP +3P program team
Patients who are close citizen-partners
At the heart of the Patients Partners +3P program, a hundred or so committed people put their knowledge and experience to the service of the institution. Being a patient, a relative, a citizen and a partner of the PP +3P program, means getting involved as a person with experience of illness, of the care pathway or of accompanying a relative, to actively contribute to improving the quality of care and services at the HUG.
This role is based on voluntary, supervised and equal participation with healthcare professionals. Patient partners are involved in various partnership missions in care, training, research and organization. Their experiential knowledge thus becomes a complementary resource to professional knowledge. Integrated at different levels of the institution, patient partners are supported, trained and recognized for their contribution, in a spirit of respect, trust and reciprocity.
Patient ambassadors
Patient ambassador partners, who have been involved in the PP+3P program for over three years, are responsible for actively promoting the PP+3P program and the patient partnership culture, both inside and outside the institution. Their commitment is voluntary, supervised and co-constructed with the PP+3P program team, in a dynamic of continuous improvement and innovation.
Their main mission is to promote the patient partnership and more specifically the PP+3P program by:
- representing the PP +3P program within and outside the HUG
- accompanying new PPs as they join the program
Their missions fall within the scope of care, teaching, research or organizational activities.
