Certification Equal-Salary

The HUG have obtained the  Equal-Salary certification in 2021, which was renewed in 2024 for a period of 3 years. This certification confirms and guarantees that the institution offers equal pay to its female and male staff for the same work.

The analysis conducted within the HUG covered more than 13,000 employees (68% women and 32% men). The factors taken into account in the analysis were:

  • The age of the person,
  • seniority,
  • hierarchical status,
  • unction,
  • level of training,
  • salary grade,
  • generic function, place of work and annuity.

The 2024 analysis once again showed an average difference of 0.3% between women and men. Therefore, the HUG successfully satisfy the equal pay criteria as set out in the certification framework, which requires that this gap be below the 5% tolerance threshold.

This certification is part of a continuous improvement process and fits in perfectly with the equality and inclusion measures set out in the hospital's RH 2023-2028 strategy.

The HUG also sit on the Federal Committee for the Charter for Equal Pay in the Public Sector.
