Training for partnership in research

Partnering in research is a course organized by the PartnerREC network, the Patients Partenaires +3P program, the University of Lausanne-Lausanne University Hospital (UNIL- CHUV)/Swiss Cancer Center Léman (SCCL) patient laboratory and the HUG Competence Development Center in partnership with the CHUV.

Who is the training aimed at ?

The training course is aimed at patients, relatives, researchers and healthcare professionals who wish to become involved in a partnership approach to research.

Integrating partnership in research requires recognizing the complementarity of knowledge between the experiential one of patients' and relatives' stemming from living with illness and experience of the healthcare system. This partnership also calls on the sharing of scientific knowledge by healthcare and research professionals. A culture of co-construction and co-leadership calls on the development of a common language in order to establish an egalitarian relationship between all members of the research team, as well as a clearer identification of each person's role.

The inclusion of a patient and a close partner in research contributes to better meeting their needs.
