They offer moral and social support to persons whose physical and psychological integrity are seriously affected by an oncological disease. This disease inevitably disrupts the family dynamic as it worsens an existing social isolation.
They monitor the patient throughout the disease, and offer listening, comfort, and support with administrative and financial issues, all while weaving an extra-hospital network around the patient, to support the patient and their caregivers based on their needs.

Art therapy
The Jules and Albert Doret Fund supports a specialist in art therapy. This specialist’s work offers these patients much more than just a way to occupy their long days.

Through pictures, graphics and other forms of art, they discover and find in themselves an ability to express their experiences, their condition and their feelings, in ways other than through words alone. In fact, oral expression, predominant as it is, reveals its limits when embarrassment occurs: words we grapple with when they come up against our modesty, words we cannot find, those that betray our thoughts, and, more often, those of a language that is not necessarily our own. When speech becomes impossible, silence and isolation are not the only way out. Expression through art becomes essential because it is universal.
Financial assistance
The Jules and Albert Doret Fund provides one-time financial assistance to struggling patients.
For several years, the Jules and Albert Doret Fund has also funded a specialist in bodywork approaches in the form of massage for cancer patients.
