Lung cancer: European certification and patient satisfaction

Care quality indicators

Improving the quality of patient care is a constant priority for the Lung Cancer Centre team.
To assess the quality of the services it provides, the centre uses two complementary approaches:

  • Certification by the European Cancer Centre Programme
  • Patient satisfaction survey among patients receiving care.

This twofold evaluation of the centre ensures recognition by patients and healthcare professionals.

No serious complications are observed in the days following surgery thanks to the expertise of the physicians and the quality protocols implemented at HUG (enhanced recovery after surgery, video-assisted surgery, etc.).

ECC Certification

The aim of the European Cancer Centre certification system is to create a certified network in which patients receive comprehensive, interdisciplinary and multi-professional care based on evidence-based guidelines. The quality of treatment within the network is documented, evaluated and used to support continuous quality improvement as part of the audit process.

Patient satisfaction survey

A satisfaction survey is systematically given to all patients at the centre during their care in the various divisions. The Lung Cancer Centre quality manager collects their feedback on the services received.

“Everything was fine, many thanks to the entire HUG team. ”

“You’re doing a great job and, personally, I received excellent care. Nothing to complain about, and thanks again.”
