In many cases, a pathologist works alongside the pulmonologist carrying out the tissue sampling. This speeds up care by allowing immediate analysis.
Surgery: greater precision to prevent complications and shorten hospital stays

The aim of surgical treatment is to remove all cancerous tissue.
No serious complications are observed in the days following surgery thanks to the expertise of the physicians and the quality protocols implemented at HUG (enhanced recovery after surgery, video-assisted surgery, etc.).
The aim of the European Cancer Centre certification system is to create a certified network in which patients receive comprehensive, interdisciplinary and multi-professional care based on evidence-based guidelines. The quality of treatment within the network is documented, evaluated and used to support continuous quality improvement as part of the audit process.
A satisfaction survey is systematically given to all patients at the centre during their care in the various divisions. The Lung Cancer Centre quality manager collects their feedback on the services received.
