The Virtual Medicine Center (VMC) was delighted to join the HUG stand at the 2025 Cité des Métiers, a six-day event full of energy, curiosity, and inspiring exchanges. It was a real pleasure to meet such an enthusiastic audience and to share how virtual reality is already being used at HUG for both patient care and medical training.
At such a busy event, many visitors were happy to put on a headset - whether to take a moment to relax and escape in VR, or to step into the role of a surgeon for 15 minutes and experience a knee replacement procedure in an immersive simulation. One highlight was welcoming the Head of HUG, who tried the TKA surgical simulation in VR, perfectly illustrating the spirit of openness and innovation that defines our institution.
The VMC was proud to be part of such a strong and engaging HUG stand, and it was a genuine pleasure to reconnect with the extended HUG family - colleagues, partners, and friends - who stopped by throughout the six days. Events like the Cité des Métiers are a powerful reminder of the importance of sharing our work with the public and inspiring future generations to explore careers in healthcare and innovation.
