New follow-up consultation

The transplant service provides pre-and post-transplant medical monitoring for over six hundred people who have benefitted from a liver, pancreas or islets of Langerhans transplant, combined or not with a renal graft. Until now, this outpatient care had been entirely provided by specialist doctors.

Medical Activities

The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Division takes care of patients affected by diseases of the liver, biliary tract, pancreasesophagusstomach and intestines.

It offers outpatient consultations, day admissions and a traditional inpatient service for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting these organs.

Mission of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Division

  • The care and treatment of patients suffering from diseases of the digestive tract, liver, biliary tract and pancreas in terms of diagnostics and non-surgical therapeutics, taking into account services provided by the other divisions of HUG
  • Carry out interventional endoscopy, percutaneous and transhepatic procedures of the above organs
  • Patients can be inpatients or outpatients. In the latter case, they are dealt with at a standard consultation by their attending physician

Mission of the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Disorders Center

The Center for Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Disorders provides a comprehensive treatment for patients suffering from a disease of the liver, bile ducts and pancreas.

This comprehensive treatment guarantees the excellence of care, access to all exams and all technical platforms. The multidisciplinary team of medical and surgical experts, as well as the care provider and paramedical team, will provide individualized and targeted response to the needs of each patient. In order to achieve this, a clinical pathway coordinator is assigned to the center, to ensure patients sent to a particular hospital site receive optimal care.
