When can I have sexual intercourse?

During pregnancy:
In most cases, there is no risk to having sexual intercourse during pregnancy. It does not harm the baby and helps to strengthen the couple.

Sexual intercourse must absolutely be avoided in the event of:

  • risk of premature birth
  • placenta previa (placenta covering the cervix)
  • rupture of the amniotic sac

After childbirth:
As desired, as soon as the suture is well healed, free from pain and there are no more heavy discharges.
