20/20 Vision

Making the HUG efficient, welcoming and effective

Vision 20/20

The five-year review of the HUG strategic plan is an essential process, as this plan will guide our work over the next five years.

In recent years, numerous actions have been undertaken to ensure that Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) are institutions that prioritise the welcome, attention and quality of care given to patients. The new strategic plan, christened 20/20 Vision, is therefore a continuation of our previous work, and aims to make Geneva University Hospitals ever more efficient, welcoming and effective.

It also follows on from the 2014 analysis of our quality of service objectives, the results of which were published in a brochure that enables our patients, their families and our staff to assess the scope of these targets and to commit themselves to these.

This paper examines the key elements of the social, political and economic context within which the HUG carry out their work. It anticipates changes to this context in the medium-term in order to guide the institution's activities and adapt to future realities.

In light of this analysis, we have revisited the institution's vision and values to ensure that they accurately reflect the changes to its public service mission now and in the near future.

The analysis presented in this document is based on the collective intelligence of Geneva University Hospitals, since it is the result of a participatory process as explained in the introduction below.

We want 20/20 Vision to clearly express the HUG's commitment to providing better care, training and research development, in the interest of the people in our region.
